Yep, matching Midge is just about impossible. Some guys have it, some don’t. The final vocal climax, if you will, with the multiple “and those who…”s in the original Thin Wall always leaves me slightly out of breath, just listening to it (you can hear it’s been recorded in two takes, if you listen closesly). I could have the last “…will always have their backs against the thin waaaaaaaaaaalll” part playing on repeat for hours. Great singer, great timbre. Great record, that Rage in Eden.

Nothing personal. :-) But I can't use my pattern recognition abilities to understand the language, which helped me with the other Nordic web sites. And the Spanish, Portuguese and Italian ones.

Finnish is definitely not for everybody (apparently it’s just for about 5.5 Mpeople). The most fun about Finnish is that you can construct the weirdest non-existing words that people can still understand. Marsukivääriliipasinrasvapurkki immediately comes to mind.

It unambiguosly means the jar in which you keep grease to be applied to the trigger of a rifle used to shoot guinea pigs with.

>  Gert, knowing the subject of Kim's previous covers, and the fact that he's talking about a project or projects (I figured out that, in Finnish, you put a T after a word to create a plural, more or less, but I have no clue how this would work with a word that ends in T to begin with), this is about Kim's job, and all the pleasantries pertaining to projects, deadlines and customers. I think he plays it during the Christmas party, after which there is much rejoicing, and everybody presumably gets blind drunk.

Spot on.

Quick rhymeless and rhythmless translation:

The project is nearing its end
nothing works as it should
everything is difficult
but you should still keep going.
More than a hundred tasks left
and the weeks just fly by
so just one tiny effort more
and the customer will pay.

Consultants collapsing,
employments terminating,
affects your sanity,
it’s exceptionally difficult.

This case.
This case.

Just when I thought it was finished
a new feature crept in
it jumped out from behind the corner
and invalidated everything.
It was mentioned in the specifications
but we didn’t understand
that it was so important
that the customer would remember it.

Now I’m installing to the production environment
and I notice a fatal bug
I write it down in Excel
and start again.

This phase.
This phase.

Project manager: Hey guys! This dude is using Excel for issue tracking!
Consultants: Hehehehehehehehehe…
PM: Excel?
Cs: Spreadsheet!!!
PM: JIRA?
Cs: Issue tracking software!!!
PM: Excel?
Cs: Bad!
PM: JIRA?
Cs: Good!
PM: Excel?
Cs: Bad!
PM: JIRA?
Cs: Good!
PM: That’s right…bitches!

Now we’re handling the issues
we fix them efficiently
and they will be tested again,
we’re getting this done
and we don’t need any vacations,
this project will be ready
before the deadline.

Narrator: (stuff about JIRA) Not bad. This is good. This is what we’ll use!!!
Cs: Yeeeeeeeeeeeee!

> As usual, it's very well produced, and sufficiently weird. Kudos to you, Kim, for delivering another masterpiece. But it sure would help if (a) we understood Finnish and (b) we knew what was going on at your job. :-)

Hope the above lyrics help.
