Yeah, different memory controller. I’m sure that for 80% of use it makes sense. But honestly I think Apple should either come out with a new Mac Pro, or release a MacBook Pro that is 3mm thicker (17”?), same build quality, bigger battery, larger thermal envelope and 64 gigs of RAM.
