Fun games to play?

Tried to get into it, but I can't stand puzzle games (rat in a cage) style .. Anything else, resource-manage'y, or old-school pixel shooter'ish?

> Obviously, Steam is extremely convenient with having your games AND your savefiles in the cloud, and available on any computer. Not that I have dozens of games machines running about, though, so this advantage is largely theoretical.

I just like the convenience of install/admin .. its a repo for games, and I like that.
