On muffwiggler there is a thread on how to modify an electro harmonix Cathedral to accept CV input and turn it into a granular-sounding experi/mental device.

I missed the used Cathedral at a local guitar shop by a day, so I haven't had the chance to try that mod, but have tried out the cathedral before and liked the sound (tried with a guitar only, though)

from what I hear it's not as high-end, but almost there with a bit more roughness than Space.
