and one more comment on the inverse of this:  having lots of gear but
very little time (which is my current situation).

You use the gear to make what little time you have as productive as
possible.  I could stomach a DX7 interface back in the day because I
had the time to do so.  Now I dont.  The gear can present no
roadblocks to my creative flow, else my time is wasted mucking about
with it and not producing.
