Yes, the 6800 GT just... broke. Probably a heat issue. I get strange 
artefacts in text mode, and if it switches to graphics mode, the 
computer hangs. Only VESA modes work.

It happened before, after which I managed to solve it by burning a new 
BIOS on my son's PC. But on my own PC it didn't work, so I just went 
ahead and got the 8800 GTS. The 6800 GT is sitting next to me, and 
perhaps I should try it in my son's computer.

That would be a pretty nice system for a five year old. :)
