Personally, I didn't mind the compressed 
guitar sound. Also, I feel the new 
"sparkling" sound leads to a struggle 
for space with the other instruments.
I guess it's also a matter of taste.

I agree. But I would lose the guitar 
part in the intro and just use the first 
half.
