Funny!  I’ve been spending the last few hours playing with the tape delay emulations that are available in Zynthian, and to my ears they are as good as the TC Electronic Gauss Tape Echo that I’ve seen poking around the jam studios lately .. anyway you can hear samples of the Calf plugins that are included in the Zynthian here:

I can’t give you any reason not to buy your desired hardware, but I think you might get a big kick out of the Zynthians’ bundled tape echoes . .
