Not yet, although I have considered getting some model trains from 
there, if only they weren't so damn expensive.

There are probably a few factors there:
1) Russians drive somewhat adventurously;
2) There is no mandatory car insurance in Russia;
3) It's a very corrupt country, so if you do have an accident, they 
probably arrange with the police for you to be blamed.

So it probably doesn't have much bearing on buying goods, other than 
that your parcel probably has a higher chance to get "lost", and you'll 
have to consider import duties, custom charges and tax if applicable.
