I have a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 but I haven’t tested their Scarlet range. The thing I know though is that they are always quick to release updates when Apple breaks audio :-)
My impression have always been that the Scarlet’s have the same inside as the Saffire’s apart from being USB instead of FW. If that’s the case audio quality should be good as well. Their control panel application is also easy to use.

This happens when I just plug the laptop directly from the headphone jack, through about a meter of stereo cable into a TC Electronic Level Pilot, into my monitor speakers.
