Hey, Joost, very cool!
I would go for one of the Sony "system camera's". Small, light weight, great quality, lots of cool lenses. But don't expect big tele. I'd go for a wide angle prime.
If you want to have a small camera with HUGE tele (30x optical), plus not too bad wide angle, and awesome stabilisation and great video, go Sony too. Take one of the compacts. I've got a HX50V. Very happy with it for little trips, and family stuff.
Have fun!
Gert

Of course I’m bring it, but even though it’s pretty nice for its small size it’s not a real camera ;) I also have my trusty Nikon D40 with a few nice lenses, so my plan was to bring that one. It’s quite heavy though, and the idea is to travel as light as possible. So perhaps there’s a better idea.
