Sounds pretty good. Lots of limiting of course (the original was not that loud), but it quite well got rid of the bit of boxyness present in the original. Not bad at all.

To me it sounds like it makes an histogram of the frequency content of the entire track (perhaps with some segmentation…) applies EQ to normalize this frequency histogram (perhaps it does some genre detection and it picks an applicable curve?). Then standard excitation (subbass extension?), multiband compression and limiting.

Smart idea :)
