I mean something like this would make a nice MS-20 type synth voice: http://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/73171 Even then you are missing out on some of the stuff you would get in an MS-20, like sample and hold etc….
One of the things I have learned from euro is that for me, trying to build typical synth voices get boring. I mean you can, and they are awesome, but there is so much more you can do, and at the end of the day still have those classic sounds, just a few patch cords away.
I think you were on the right track with Braids, why not build a system around that? You could always get a ms-20 mini and patch it into the modular with a Harvestman English Tear at some point.
