If you could design a music product ..

great to hear this jay :)

i don't think there's any lack of design talent or imagination in the
synth industry.

what i do see is an extreme diversity of instruments emerging to suit an
extreme
diversity of musical form, and if there is any weakness in existing
companies, it
is systemic, and arises from the fundamental tension between the
economies of scale
and the banality of any mass-manufactured article, and the intricacies
and fascinations
of unique creations, which characterise the underlying mode of all
interesting musical
instruments, imo.

if you want creative success in this endeavour, then, i would say this
is a matter of
enabling musicians to engage with the process of creation, modification
and evolution
of each individual instrument, perhaps working with 3d printing to cover
the physical
side of this evolution

very best of luck

So what I’d like to know, is what does music-bar think the music hardware industry needs right now? What would you like to see in a product, developed by dynlab for release on the market towards September/October 2014 (with NAMM 2015 in target)?

Our new offices are amazing and we have some great, really great talented people who are working with us, including some hardware guru’s the likes of which I’ve not seen before, and I’ve met a few. (Luckily, they’re not working for GCHQ or the NSA or anything like that, but .. similar calibre of competence, lets just say..)
