 From what I understand, most films in 1920x1080 resolution actually 
have a black border at the top and the bottom. Maybe they scale it; I 
probably wouldn't see the difference anyway. Not that I'd likely get a 
34" display though, that's over 50% bigger than I have now.

But IPS is nice. Maybe not so very good for gaming, but I love my 22" 
Dell eIPS screen.
