Win7 or Win8.1?

As mentioned, I need a new DAW but Im considering just using my i7 3.4Ghz
porn PC rather than buy a new PC exclusively for music.

 

Question: Is Win8.1 still a complete "NO" for music?  If so, ill have to
rebuild and install Win7..
