greylisting?

A week ago or so I activated greylisting on the virtual server which handles my mail.
Indeed spam became much less but I also have the impression (no evidence so far though) that some relevant msgs didn't make it to my mailer. 
Or is it just a concidence with some people not or lazily reacting on my mails?
I assume greylisting is an established and well working measure but now there's this bit of uncertainty.
