Audio interface

If the MOTU you had lasted 10 years, why not go with another? I had three presonus interfaces all blow on me just outside of warranty. They always had the same problem: a corrupted onboard FPG (I think that's what it was) and had to be sent back for a repair by presonus (which cost me every time took a few weeks round trip). I, personally, won't buy another one of their products after that.
My MOTU, so far, sounds better than the presonus did and has a better software front end. I don't have the clock issues I had with the presonus (it would often refuse to send word clock that other devices could recognize). I've had mine about a year and so far it's been perfect.

I have had it for maybe 10?! years, which is good but it has not been without well documented problems in the past that come and go, so I'm thinking its time for a change from motu. Looking at the Focusright Saffire pro 40 right now. Thinking of staying FireWire, and the Saffire products are compatible with thunderbolt/FireWire adapter (not sure if this is just marketing bull.)
