Kai,

Thanks for the feedback! I ended up ordering the Tascam DR-680 which 
seems to be the best multi-track within the budget. I noticed there are 
some 2-channel portables with S/PDIF too, but they were around €400 too 
so I'd rather go the full way and have the multi-channel capabilities.
