Well, Im going to defend it :)

The marketing, like most marketing, sells it via a lie.  Automap will not
miraculously set itself up for anything you care to point at it.  Okay, it
will but you will be buggered if you can then find the cut off knob etc etc.

So, I just use it as a regular controller with a super fast method of
setting up.  Once setup, I love the fact you can then say "save as default
for this pluggin".

Also, I only use it for a few heavily used things that benefit for a
controller rather than a mouse (Spark, for example).  I don't use it for
Live as prefer mice for mixers/DAWS.

I know I have plugged this before but: I don't tend to get excited by step
sequencers as we all have a few and, there is very little variation in the
countless step sequencer designs.  Enter the Roland M185 (or the above it
you only have 35euros)!  Now, link this to custom Novation SL setup and you
have the ultimate step sequencer!

Here a reminder of what the M185 can do (the software version ads even more
power to this fantastic design..)
