Cycling in the UK - what you should consider before you start

I will just say that the roads in New York City are basically a free-for-all. It's like go-carts. It's every pedestrian, car and bike for themselves. The only way to really fix it is not allow cars in cities, or use tiny alt energy ones. 

Though they have put in tons of new bike lanes that are separated from the road by parked cars and/or dividers, almost like a mini road for bikes. This has caused tons of problems, most non-cyclists think they are hell spawn put there by satan himself.
