reaction from a dad....

I agree that he went to far. One thing to keep in mind - I get the
idea from the look of the guy and the sound of his accent he is from
the south - probably Texas. Guns and Texas are basically synonyms.
Everyone has one. Everyone uses them for protection, hunting or just
plain entertainment. Its a strange culture down there (which I am
sure is exactly how they feel about the rest of the country).
Culturally, what he did was 100% acceptable down there, though in
other places child services would be making a call because it looks
like he is apt to become violent.
As to his surprise that this went viral...well, like father like
daughter! I find it ironic that in attempting to school his daughter
about facebook, he ends up creating a viral media fire storm.
Hopefully, they both learn a lesson.
On another note, I showed this video to my dad. He thinks the guy is
crazy, but as he put it "You don't know what it is like raising a 16
year old girl until you do, and it is probably the hardest thing a
parent can do". I think you can see this fathers frustration very
apparently in the video.
The destruction of the property is very unfortunate, however I can see
what he is trying to say. In a very visceral, physical way, he is
trying to state that "I can destroy this this thing, which means that
I control this thing". We are seeing primal instincts taking over in
this video. Its kind of terrifying.
