That's what we're doing at work. At least, all our systems are Intel or
AMD based, virtual machines. What the host OS is I don't know, but I can
ask.
The preference is to run things on Solaris, then Linux, and if
everything else fails, Windows. Siebel, for example, we'll have to run
on Windows, because they only support Solaris on SPARC chips. In 2011...

My son is tall like his daddy, and already eight years old, so no need
to mount them low. :)
He was playing again a bit today, although he's more interested in
figuring out sounds (presets) and what happens when you twist a knob or
press a button, then actually playing something resembling a melody.
Just to be sure, I reminded him that he could play with them whenever he
wanted.

Good point. He's got one of those meters himself, after all.
He's at cookery class now, something his daddy never went to. :)
