you do a live arrangement like you now can in Ableton Live -- before there was live. Turn tracks on and off, thus making the grooves very lively.

also there is the "note repeat" button, a drumroll feature where you hold a pad and the notes roll in the quantization you select -- 16th notes for example. The notes are as loud as you press the pad -- very alive, too.

it's just extremely "jammy".

also it's built like a tank (the 2000 was, anyway) and that makes it seem indestructible, no matter how hard you hit it.

the original 2000's file system is a mess, though. SCSI, but limited to 128 files on any one disk -- it doesn't even know anything like directories even exist. it can only hold 128 samples in its RAM, too. 

it is wicked fun though, and not just for Linkin Park type "nu-metal" either...;)
