That's what I thought too. From doing a bit of research today on the elektron forums I see a couple of things it is good at - being a fucked up mixer, and sample(more specifically loop) mangling. The OS is not done yet, but it seems like a straight compositional tool it is not. More like you create your loops and then bring them over to the machine to f' them the f' up. It's probably really good for French house :)

Couple of other things, the individual tracks are monophonic(but can have 128 samples per track) and I don't think there is midi yet.
