Android is absolutely the worst performer, audio-wise, of the current crop of mobile OS's.  True, also, of its GUI architecture, due to decisions made in its very early versions about where to put GUI updates .. this is why we're seeing a sudden influx of dual-core architecture in this space, also, to make up for Androids' design failings.
