Licenses

I am getting dangerously close to having an actual 'album' worth of
tracks done, which means I am, for the first time in 15 years,
planning my own release.

Of course, the landscape has changed a lot since then, and I don't
fully understand the various license options out there and what they
mean. Back when I released my Carbon Haze album, there were two
models: give it away or don't. What work I have done since then has
been ultimately owned by someone else.

So under what license do you release your music? What do you like
about the model you use over others? If you are actually trying to
earn income from your music, how does the license model you have
chosen effect that?

I figure this could be an interesting discussion for the bar.

Tony
