Thanks Romain!

I'm up and running again, this time with both knuckles and belts. The 
strange thing is how I could get the virus the second time with a 
totally updated system, antivirus and only programs from trusted sources 
installed.
My suspicion is that one of my Firefox addons might have something to do 
with it. Haven't installed them this time and now I'm running all 
internet activities in a protected environment with no access to the 
real system.
