audio distortions after recording

It sounds like some kind of buffer underrun. The Octopre isn't a sound  
card, so what is he using? Directly into the PowerBook? Should work  
fine... what does he use to record? It might be that his machine is  
doing other things in the background, although I've never seen this  
happen under OS X (except with really crappy Yamaha drivers).

Up the RAM to 2GB anyway, it's cheap and it's worth it!
