At work, we just deployed VMWare in our server room. we have two
boxes, one in LA (that I am currently installing) and one in Chicago.
our entire environment is exactly replicated on the two machines. We
are really getting great performance out of it.

To test this, we used ubuntu running the free version of VMWare first
on a pair of quad core desktops. Ive also got it running on my laptop
so that I have my windows environment (which I am using now) as a VM.
It makes it very easy to make a perfect complete backup of my entire
development environment. It runs pretty well, with a win2k3 server
and XP Pro running at the same time.

Ive got a Core 2 Duo processor, 2gb of RAM and I am running the 32bit
version of Ubuntu on it.
