iMac USB question

anyone???

i have an old iMac G4/800 that i want to give to my mom. it has 3 USB
1.1 ports and 2 firewire 400 ports but the USB ports are too slow for
current peripherals. is there anything that will convert USB 2 to
firewire 400? if so, what would you recommend?
