Exactly. Think about this: Queen 
mentioning on their album with "Bohemian 
Rapsody", long ago, that no synths were 
used. Synths are not "real" instruments...

Or the discussions in the 80's about how 
drummers would/wouldn't be redundant 
because of the rise of the drum machine...

I think in the end it's all about the 
sound that reaches the ear and the 
brain. If you don't like synths, 
drumcomputers, classical music or 
Autotune, no problem. If you do - 
excellent, enjoy!
