Guys,
I just had Hans visiting me for coffee
(Hans is Dif, who was once on this
list), and he was talking about a
problem he has when recording classical
music.
This music can often be very dynamic.
The chance of clipping and distortion is
huge, or you must go for recording on a
low volume, which is bad for the sound
quality (low dynamics) as well.
A good solution would be integrated
limiters in your audio interface, but he
has an Edirol thing, which doesn't
support that.
So I was wondering: how do you guys make
sure your audio doesn't get digitally
clipped - apart from recording on a low
volume?
Is there some easy, not too expensive
solution, perhaps with software?
Please keep in mind that Hans wants to
be able to record 4 or 5 tracks
simultaneously.
Thanks!
