You do have to keep your wits about you to avoid falling into that trap, but
if you avoid the analogue synth and stick to samples, and sequence the
results elsewhere to avoid it's tendency to do everything in 4-bar chunks,
it can be very good.

 At the moment I have 1 other finished track in this style, "No Chaos",
which I pimped to the bar a few months ago, but I've got an album worth of
stuff in progress, with the eventual aim of having a proper CD release of my
very own.

I'm using the name LX Nen for this project, and I'm currently working on
lxnen.com, having just (after a real struggle!) made a halfway acceptable
myspace page (www.myspace.com/lxnen if anyone wants to friend me or hear the
last 3 minutes of 'no chaos' which was about 13 minutes too long for
myspace's silly 6Mb limit), a garageband page, and a trig page. Whew!
