Hmmm, yeah, tied down to lengthy contracts, with no choice for users, people
can't replace memory or install software without 'manufacturer' approval.
With that "Next gen thinking" in mind, who uses Linux?
Point is apple have a niche, and they know damned well they could loose it
in the mobile phone wars, easily. They're trying to protect their market,
they're not doing it out of altruism.
Apple, or not that different to MS, they just make gear that works (for the
most part according to that article), they're still a company, they're still
in it for the money and nothing else.
If they weren't, they wouldn't object to people loading their own software
on, and even choosing a provider, They'd also open the OS up and make it GPL
or FLOSS.
Just some food for thought.
