It's nice, but it's slightly fatter than the old one. 3G makes a huge
difference to browsing away from a wifi signal, and the GPS is neat...
but it does need a TomTom app to make it really useful as an in-car
navigator. I can get a bit more of my 51Gb itunes library on there
too, which is nice.

I would't have paid a lot more for it, but as it actually saves me
money by upgrading to a cheaper monthly payment (and I have the old
one to use as a wifi device/PSP/ebay), so I'm happy, even bearing in
mind the colossal cock-ups from O2.

Super Monkey Ball!

The Apple Remote app is great, I can change tracks on iTunes while
playing games full-screen.

Shazam is really impressive
(http://www.shazam.com/music/portal/page/default/template/pages/p/iphone.html)
and free. It correctly identified a few strange remixes and even
spotted the difference between 2 different pianists playing the same
1930s jazz piano track from my dad's collection.

Midomi is similar, but lets you speak a track/artist name and then it
plays it to you. Why can the iPhone do this but not voice dialling?

...and of course there's lots of silly stuff like iPint and the motion
sensing Light Sabre simulator :-)

Still looking forward to writing my own stuff for it, the SDK isn't
out of beta yet so I'm stuck on that front for now.
