Talcum powder (or baby powder) usually gets rid of the nasty sticky stuff as well without removing the rubber surface. You get best results if you do this before it gets too nasty though.

Finally took some time to degrease my MiniBrute. After a few years the end panels acquired a flypaper coating. Apparently it’s leaking out from the plastic.

If you have the same problem, get some isopropanol and rub rub rub. You’ll lose the slightly rubbery coating but they’ll look like new.
