I don’t really agree with this - its capable of beautiful and pleasant things, but like any modular you have to get the patch right. The Model D definitely has a characteristic filter - but hey, why not both?
The Neutron does have quirks though - the Overdrive section could probably do with a bit of a re-design, because it factors into the signal flow too much and therefore doesn’t really expose any utility. I think this gives people the impression that its a ’nasty’ synth, but if you dial things down you’ll find it in more aesthetic, albeit quieter, territory.
