REAPER + Ninjam is really easy to set up and works very well.  You can use it to get some jamming/production done together, then import your stems into your preferred DAW after your joint session (unless you decide to stay with REAPER of course).   I’ve used it a couple times in the last few months to exchange ideas across the corona gap, it really is smooth and easy.   Also: it’s free and open source.

(But Reaper itself is definitely worth registering..)
