I have one. I’d say it depends a lot on what you hope to get out of it.
The sound iare really good and there’s a ton of presets to use as starting points but if you’re expecting a classic tweak-and-build-your-own-banks-rompler you’re out of luck, at least hardware wise. You can load presets and tweak them and then they are saved with the track for the current project, i.e there are no user banks. If you’re looking for that, get a Jupiter X/Xm.
As Andy mentioned there's a fully editable software version of the Zen Core engine coming this fall, Zenology Pro. It’s a synth plugin in its own and can also transfer sounds to the different Zen Core hardware units.
I got the MC-707 in part to get a DAW-less solution for quick jamming but also for the nice sound. Very quick and easy to lay out ideas with it.
