Audio interfaces

Following the comments, I've been doing a little bit of research. Focusrite
looks nice, but if you get the Scarlett range, it's a bit at the bottom
end, especially in the mic preamps (which I won't use anyway). And USB 2.0
is 18 years old now. The Clarett offers better specs and either Thunderbolt
or USB (2.0 and C), but is also considerably more expensive.
So I came across the MOTU 8A: http://motu.com/products/avb/8a
It has everything I need, doesn't have anything I don't need (like mic
preamps), has a very good performance (if it's indeed as good as the 16A),
and comes with Thunderbolt, USB 3.0 (also usable with 2.0), and an AVB
interface, which is one of the many ways to do audio over Ethernet. Not as
popular as Dante, but it's an open standard and in due time it should be
possible to connect it directly to a PC (you can already connect it to a
Mac).
It's pretty new, so I doubt many people worked with it, and it isn't
exactly cheap either (€829), but what do you guys think? I know that there
are some happy MOTU users here.
