Audio interfaces

Yes, I'm still alive, even though I haven't read the Music Bar since
late September... Sorry about that, but I just never seem to have time
for anything.
Right. Tony's decision to get rid of practically all his hardware synths
make me think. Apart from the Electribe, I've had my synths for some 20
(!) years, and I doubt I'll buy any more, if any. But I do have a Yamaha
01V mixer, which is fine, but also very bulky, and I'm not really using it.
Therefore, I was thinking of selling the 01V (and taking a massive
loss), and get an audio interface instead.
* It would have to take six inputs minimum, but better eight or more
* I don't care about outputs
* I don't care about digital connections (ADAT, S/PDIF, etc)
* I don't care I don't care about the interface (USB, Firewire or
Thunderbolt). It would be nice if I could hook it up to my Sony
Lissa systen, though, which uses Firewire to interconnect.
Given my experience with the M-Audio 2x2M, where the sticker on top is
peeling off, and which causes a blue screen every so often, I'd rather
not have this brand. Driver stability is an absolute must; I can't
accept a BSOD in this day an age.
Budget is also a consideration, in the sense that €1000 or more doesn't
make any sense for me.
So... would anybody have any recommendations?
