Oberheim Matrix 6R vs 1000

I had a Matrix 1000, loved the thing (cool idea to get two and go stereo) .. you will really hate yourself though, for not getting one with editable control surface.  As a patch-player it works great and of course has a lot of potential, but if you get a controller (I had the Access Matrix programmer, way back when..) you will find 10x the depth for the instrument.  So many parameters are buried deep.  Also, you might wanna live-modulate the params, and in that capacity the 6R is pretty darned cool.  So if you can get a 6R and fit it, go that route - otherwise, do try to get a hardware control surface set up for it... 

Makes me really want one again, btw. So if you do get a Matrix1000 and you end up doing something else with it, there'll be a  buyer for it here on the -bar ..
