Hi, that’s interesting, since the original MOTU Traveler I have won’t work on a TB to FW converter because it draws too much current. And according to the RME FF400 manual it would be drawing 13W of power which is more than TB’s possible 9.9W.
The (really) ridiculous thing is the promises some announcements regarding new interface technology convey. Necessary adaptors support the protocols but hardware features are falling by the wayside, specifically meeting power requirements of the older hardware those adaptors/convertors are designed for.
