It arrived Wednesday. It’s pretty crazy! The thing has an onboard mic to detect ambient sound, which it uses for things like noise gating and killing feedback.
But it also uses it to detect the BPM of the music playing around, to sync the delay FX, and to detect the chords/scale for auto-tune/pitch transform/harmonize FX. Really like magic…
So I think it’s quite cool! I feel it’s a big step up from standard multi-fx from 10 years ago… they’re really using the DSP power that’s available from the mobile revolution…
… might even make Jay sound good ;)
