Hmm, I agree with Romain. Basically, my machine spent 6 hours copying sample libraries from big compressed files from the shipped USB drive to another external USB drive. I think it would’ve been great if the libraries could just be streamed directly from USB.
So, initial verdict, after playing with the keys a bit:
1) It’s a very nice keybed :) the LEDs are surprisingly effective, especially when you have a synth that maps them all with color codes, or when you’re using an arpeggiator.
2) There are a lot of sounds, but preset selection is a bit clumsy. To set up a bunch of patches to browse through, you do need the mouse (or use the back button a lot).
3) Some of the stuff in Komplete is ridiculous… like the Cuba set, or very specialistic, like Rise & Hit. Doubt I will ever use it.
4) Not everything is included, which surprised me a bit. I assumed that Ultimate had everything, but for instance Emotive Strings and Strummed Acoustic are not included. Hum.
5) The amount of synthesizers is incredible, and the automap stuff works very well.
Anyway, I had an evening of good music making, so there’s that already :)
Cheers,
