Agreed. Compatibility of mainboard chipset and RAM is also a factor. And RAM timing etc.

I find that a lot depends on the quality of your components, and then
particularly the mainboard. Mine's a Supermicro, before that it was a
Tyan, but these brands mostly focus on server boards these days.

My PCs have always been super stable. What causes crashes is mostly
flaky drivers.
