It is indeed not cheap. But it does everything and more.

The interface is actually quite good and there is not too much 
menu-diving needed after you have your setup right.
There's no need for a second set of encoders.
What I like the most about it, is that the basis is quite easy to 
understand. So when I have friends over and we want to jam a bit, I 
don't need to explain too much...

Well, if you ever have the chance to test drive one, do it.
