It's amusing that my Core i7 960 is still listed in the "high end CPUs" 
list at cpubenchmark.net, at about a quarter of the performance of the 
most powerful 18 core (mine has 4) Intel CPU. The cooler is the size of 
a motorcycle engine block: it actually has two 12cm fans on in.

It's not a very quiet machine, though mostly because I keep one side 
open all the time because of the amount of heat in summer, both of the 
machine and the weather.
