FabFilter Pro-Q 2 (was: New Track: "Hot Fan")

..I just qualified for a 50% educational discount with Fabfilter so looks like a spending spree is coming on!!  Going to leave it a few days as historically they have December discounts starting this Friday.

 

Now to decide what bundle to go for :)

I did a side-by-side test with the Live EQ and a couple of others, and I couldn't tell anything "sound"-wise that was out of the ordinary.  What I did like was the ease of controls and the way you could hear differences with minute changes in the frequency ranges I was working with.  The selecting of a specific band by just drawing the mouse around was also very handy.  Overall the UI is super nice to work with.

Btw, some people have mentioned that the do not like the tone of the EQ. Admittedly, it's only random forum comments and version 1. Do you have any observations on the sound?

You won't regret it, super tool to have for something you use almost %100 of the time.  

Do you have any other FabFilter products?  If so, you may be able to get other plugins at a discount.  That's what I did.  Just log into to your account on their site to see if you have offers.
